Wuhan, July 14, 2025 — TotalEnergies Marketing China announces the full upgrade of its Quartz engine oil range—spanning from Quartz 5000 through to Quartz INEO—and simultaneously introduces two new products — Quartz 8800 and Quartz 8000 Plus. The new slogan “Extraordinary Drive, Limitless Performance” encapsulates the innovation brought about by this upgrade. This new Quartz range is developed to the industry’s latest technical standards, and is designed specifically for next-generation gasoline and hybrid vehicles to meet stricter engine protection requirements and increasingly stringent environmental regulations.

New Release

The new Quartz family now meets, and in many aspects exceeds, the latest API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 international certification standards. It also welcomes two all-new series, Quartz 8800 and Quartz 8000 Plus, as well as debuts an ultra-low viscosity French-origin 0W-12 formulation to comprehensively meet engine oil demands.

New Packaging

The new 8800 series is housed in aurora-gold bottles, consistent with the premium packaging design adopted by the Quartz range. The new look is created not only to showcase the product’s performance advantages but to also enhance visual recognition, helping distributors and end-users quickly identify the product.

New Positioning

Each Quartz grade in the range is now clearly positioned and defined by performance tiers - from entry-level synthetic oils to high-end fully-synthetic oils. Each grade is backed by precise performance claims and expanded OEM approvals. This refined structure enables car owners and mechanics to quickly and accurately identify the lubricant that best matches their engine needs.

The official launch in Wuhan was hosted by Anne-Solange Renouard, President of TotalEnergies China Investment Ltd., and Anthony Liu, Vice President of Lubricants & Specialties, Total Lubricants China, and witnessed by sales teams and distributor partners.

“This upgrade represents a major milestone in our China strategy. With championship-level performance and excellent fuel efficiency, the new Quartz range is set to win the approvals of many drivers nationwide,” said Anthony Liu.

Badminton legend and product ambassador for TotalEnergies Lin Dan   sent his congratulations via a special video message for the launch event, expressing his anticipation for the comprehensive upgrade of the new Quartz range. 本次升级为快驰系列各款产品建立了更清晰的定位，实现从入门级合成油到豪华全合成油的精确对标。全系产品均有明确的性能特点，并获得了更多主机厂技术认证。优化后的产品结构有助于车主和技师快速、准确地选择最匹配其发动机需求的润滑油。
