Binh Phuoc province, Vietnam, 27 March 2025 - TotalEnergies Marketing Vietnam and Cao Gia Quy Environment Company have signed a partnership contract for the collection and recycling of waste engine oil in Vietnam.
Under this partnership, Cao Gia Quy will collect waste engine oil from TotalEnergies Vietnam’s network of Quartz Auto Services and Hi-Perf Moto Services workshops as well as B2B commercial customers. With a nation-wide collection network and a capacity of over 23,000 tons per year, Cao Gia Quy Environment Company has been a leader in recycling waste oil into re-refined base oil since 2014.
The partnership fulfils TotalEnergies Marketing Vietnam’s duties under the new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations in Vietnam, which require lubricants companies to either recycle minimum 15% of the engine oil volume that they manufacture or import into Vietnam, or make a financial contribution to the Vietnam Environment Protection Fund.
Mehmet CELEPOGLU, Vice President – Oceania & South-East Asia of TotalEnergies Marketing Asia Pacific Middle East, stated, "We are delighted that TotalEnergies is the first lubricants company to partner with Vietnam’s largest waste oil recycling company, Cao Gia Quy Environment Company, under the country’s new EPR regulations. Beyond this partnership, we are also exploring further collaborations in line with our net zero ambition by 2050 together with the society."
The recycling partnership supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal No. 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, which aims to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns including sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources, reducing waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse, to transform to a circular economy. Additionally, it supports SDG No. 13: Climate Action, raising awareness on climate change mitigation actions among customers and end-users by collecting waste oil in a professional manner.
